Uniting A National Effort: Branding the National Housing Crisis Task Force

Mightily partnered with the National Housing Crisis Task Force, which is a joint initiative between Accelerator for America and Drexel University’s Nowak Metro Finance Lab, to create a powerful, unified brand identity and a user-friendly digital platform that would amplify the task force’s national housing reform mission.

Together, we developed a brand and website that reflects the urgency, innovation, and collaboration at the core of the task force’s work to address housing affordability and homelessness in cities across the country.

Background

The National Housing Crisis Task Force brings together leaders from local government, academia, and advocacy to tackle one of the most urgent issues facing the United States today: the nationwide housing crisis. Despite the scale of the challenge, no clear national platform or visual identity had yet unified this work or made it easy for the public and policymakers to participate.

Mightily was brought in to solve that problem by developing both a cohesive brand system and a digital home for this critical national effort.

Our branding process began by deeply immersing in the task force’s mission: to drive innovative, equitable, and data-informed housing solutions.

We crafted a brand identity that reflects those values:

  • Logo Design: The logo is bold and modern, incorporating visual elements that represent the five key segments of housing interventions which are land, construction, capital, regulation, and delivery, symbolizing the national collaboration needed to solve the housing crisis.
  • Color Palette & Typography: A minimal, confident palette paired with clean, accessible typography ensured clarity and professionalism across all materials.
  • Messaging: The brand voice is direct yet hopeful, positioning the task force as a trusted, nonpartisan leader in the housing space.

With the brand in place, Mightily designed and developed nationalhousingcrisis.org, which is a dynamic and accessible online hub for the task force’s work.
